Lisa Best is a queer writer and director from South Florida living in Los Angeles. She began her career as a stand-up comic, touring clubs and colleges across the country before making her late-night debut on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

Since then, Lisa has sold pilots, developed projects with Warner Bros. and Sony, and written for the cult-favorites THOSE WHO CAN'T’ and the BEAVIS & BUTTHEAD revival. She currently has features in development with Likely Story, Red Crown and Maximum Effort, among others. Her first short film, MOJO, premiered at the LA Women in Film Festival.

Lisa is drawn to stories about people who desperately want to connect but keep getting in their own way. Her work is grounded in the small details of human behavior, at the intersection of comedy and heartbreak, exploring identity, relationships, and the small misunderstands that can change the course of a life.
